Immediate Nature Scan (90 seconds)
What: From where you are right now, slowly scan for any natural elements:
- Sky visible through windows
- Plants in pots or gardens
- Birds flying or calling
- Insects moving
- Natural light and shadows
- Weather touching your environment
Notice: How much nature exists in your current space, what you usually overlook, which elements feel most alive
Why: Reveals nature’s constant presence, breaks nature-disconnection assumptions, builds observation skills
Micro-Ecosystem Focus (90 seconds)
What: Choose one small natural element to study closely:
- Single leaf and its variations
- Patch of earth or grass
- Bird behavior for 60 seconds
- Cloud formation changes
- Insect’s movement pattern
- Tree bark texture and patterns
Notice: Complexity in small spaces, how focused attention reveals details, what’s happening in miniature

Weather and Season Awareness (120 seconds)
What: Step outside or to window. Assess:
- Air temperature on skin
- Wind direction and strength
- Light quality and angle
- Seasonal markers you can see
- How today’s weather affects plants/animals
